Our company is located in Cebu City. I asked our company to have a WFH in Mandaue City. Last August 30,2023 was a special non-working holiday in Mandaue only, for its Charter anniversary. Since I am living in this place & having the WFH, am I entitled to have a special holiday pay for this? Daghang Salamat.

September 1, 2023 Dear Harvey Munoz, Thank you for your request dated Aug 31, 2023 01:22:56 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. You asked for WFH : HOLIDAY. As a general rule, the employee of a company located in a place with a special non-working holiday is entitled to premium pay, regardless if the worker is in a work-from-home arrangement. The home as an extension of the workplace made this arrangement possible. Employees who are privileged to enjoy holiday pay for local celebrations based on their residence are not entitled to holiday pay anymore for local holidays where the office is located.
