good day ma'am/sir! ask kolang po if possible po akong maka kuha ng license 1st 2nd 3rd class para sa pagiging pilloto even if i have ***. hindi naman po ako *** and enrolled napo ako sa isang school sa pasay. may nag sabi po kase sakin na student who took BSAMF that you can fly with the help of statement of demonstrative ability (soda) clarify kolang po sana dito many thanks and godbless po!! ps, ***.

May 29, 2018 Dear Marc Epanag, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated May 10, 2018 09:02:39 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your Request You asked about "VISION ACUITY." Response to Request: Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of the information you requested. Here is the reply of our OFSAM chief Dr. Rolly Bayaban: Dear Mr. Marc Epanag, Greetings from the Office of the Flight Surgeon and Aviation Medicine! This refers to your query on visual acuity requirement for purposes of issuing different Classes of Aviation Medical Certificates for pilot licenses that was forwarded to my office. The Philippine Civil Aviation Regulation (PCAR) specifically stated the visual acuity requirement that applicant shall have 20/20 visual acuity with or without correction. If yours is 20/50 with glasses, it would mean you failed to meet the standards for visual acuity. Medical conditions affecting the visual acuity and not meeting the standard even when wearing corrective glasses are some of the medical conditions where issuance of the Statement of Demonstrated Ability (SODA) does not apply. I advise that you consult an eye specialist (Ophthalmologist) to evaluate your eyes why your best corrected vision is 20/50 even with glasses.
