Good day, DSWD, As I understand, under R.A. 11215, Rule VII, persons with cancer can avail of the benefits and privileges under R.A. 10754 and R.A 7277. How come that some local MSWD do not want to issue us PWD ID. Please, help.

15 October 2019 Dear Mr. Edel Ocampo, You requested for information on the following: “(1) Updated types of disability covered to enjoy benefits and privileges of PWD; and (2) Is cancer included in the list considering Rule VII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 11215 [the National Integrated Cancer Control Act] states that persons with cancer can avail of the benefits of RA 10754 and RA 7277?” Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. Pursuant to Presidential Decree 1509, as amended, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) is the national government agency mandated to formulate policies and coordinate the activities of all agencies, whether public or private, concerning disability issues and concerns.
