A Proposed Aviation Academy-Technical University in Navotas Coastal Bay Reclamation Project
A. ABSTRACT
The Philippines' aviation industry is still recovering, with the local and regional carriers attempting to increase their fleets, offering additional job prospects for pilots and other airline-related jobs. Aviation Schools or Universities are the currently trending industry in the Philippines. Due to the reasonably priced yet high-quality aviation programs, the Philippines is the preferred venue to continue their dreams as a Pilot. Furthermore, because of the Philippines’ strategic location in the Asia Pacific region, the country serves as an international air travel excellence hub. One advantage is the country's different types of terrain, including coastal regions and mountainous areas. According to Captain Jose Benedict Lopena, Pilot Academy's Head of Training in WCC, most airlines' first concern is to hire more Filipinos as flight crew leaders, and the demands for Filipino pilots are likely to surge since the Philippines has the oldest chronology among any Asian country. However, despite these advantages of pursuing pilot training here in the country, there are several disadvantages and problems. According to Hamilton, Allen L., a researcher of Aviation Accreditation Board International accreditation standards (2008), “aviation curricula in the Philippines lacked an integrated approach. There were no experimental, innovative, or distance learning experiences or courses accessible in the curricula”.
B. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Several of the Aviation Schools or Universities in the Philippines deal with limited resources they can offer to students and a lack of training camps, materials, and equipment that the school or university can offer. Students tend to apply to another school with a greater possibility to train them well. Even professional training personnel apply to other training centers.
C. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
• To provide spaces such as training facilities, learning facilities, and other adequate rooms and areas for Aviation Academy-Technical University to let users experience everything in one place, especially the students.
• To prepare better opportunities and resources to make the students flourish in the profession of aviation.
D. SITE LOCATION
The site location of the Proposed Aviation-Academy-Technical University is in Barangay Tanza, Navotas City, Metro Manila. The actual site of the Project is the Navotas Coastal Bay Reclamation Project, which is 576.6 hectares. The reclamation project aims to establish a business park district in Navotas, including commercial, mixed-use buildings, and urban and industrial development.
This is the Executive Summary of my project proposal. The information that I request is needed for me to able to continue to Chapters I and II of my proposal.
Respectfully yours,
Bless R. Mapula
