Dear Ma angela veronica Carretero,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Feb 23, 2023 10:11:36 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for UNIFAST.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
If you are one of the students (new applicants) who applied for the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) program of UniFAST in AY 2021-2022, please be informed that due to limited funding/slots, the granting of TES is subject to the following system of prioritization categories:
1. Continuing TES student-grantees;
2. Students enrolled in private higher education institutions (HEIs) located in a city or municipality with no existing SUCs and CHED-recognized LUCs provided they submit documents certifying their residency in the same city or municipality where the PHEI is located;
3. Students who are part of the Listahanan 2.0 of DSWD; and
4. Students not part of the Listahanan 2.0 (4Ps-SWDI) ranked according to an estimated per capita household income based on submitted documentation of proof of income to be determined by the UniFAST Board (Please note that 4Ps beneficiaries are not automatically given the TES; they are still assessed and ranked depending on the available TES slots).
The UniFAST did not issue master lists and there are no approved new TES grantees in AY 2021-2022 because of a limited budget. For the same budgetary constraints, there was also no call for applications yet for new grantees this AY 2022-2023. The current budget allocation for these programs can only accommodate the subsidies of continuing or existing grantees (category no. 1). The same call for TES applications in AY 2023-2024 will be announced to all partner HEI upon the availability of funds.
Note that submitting applications does not guarantee approval in TES because all applications are assessed or evaluated. As much as we want to give TES to all poor and deserving students, the budget or the number of available slots is limited and we are bound to follow the above-mentioned prioritization provided in the law.
We would love to hear your thoughts or feedback on how we can improve your experience! Kindly accomplish our feedback form:

Thank you.

FOI Officer
