Dear Aireen Dioso,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Oct 04, 2018 05:08:14 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for the undersigned's Travel Expenses.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved. Information on travel is available in the Philippine Information Agency website which is accessible to the public at any time. However, in relation to expenses, these are submitted to the Commission on Audit (COA) on a regular basis. Should you require copies of the liquidation and expenses report, you might need to contact COA directly.
As to benefits of these travels to government, this shows the hands-on involvement of the head of agency to all organizational, administrative, planning, and programmatic functions of PIA. At its current set up, there are no middle managers in PIA. Working directly under the supervision of the Director-General are permanent personnel holding Division Chief level positions and functioning as regional heads and central office chiefs. It is necessary for a working head to oversee the work of the whole organization.
In the case of Iligan City, Marawi, and Lanao del Sur, these travels are necessary because of my role as Head of the Information Management and Strategic Communications Support Group of the Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM), as designated by Secretary Martin Andanar and TFBM Chairperson Eduardo del Rosario. I oversee the work of personnel in Iligan and Marawi and attend to relevant meetings with TFBM, national government agencies, and local government units.
