Greetings!
I am Romiel John P. Basan, a Ph.D. student of the University of the Philippines, Los Banos, Laguna. Currently, I am working on my dissertation titled “Economic and Spatio-temporal Analysis of Food and Nutrition Security in Mindanao, Philippines”. The main goal of this research is to craft location-specific policy initiatives for Mindanao’s food and nutrition security (FNS). As such, there are various variables that are needed for the analysis. One of these variables is the number of schools, including preparatory until college under DepEd. The study hypothesizes that food and nutrition security can be improved by having quality educational institutions making consumers more discriminating in their purchase decision on food, thus, selecting only those that can ensure nutrition.
In view of the foregoing, I would like to request the data on the total number of schools per province of Mindanao from 2000-2020. The analysis will be provincial to be scaled to the regional level. Rest assured that the data will be used for academic purposes only.
