To Whom It May Concern:
Greetings!
I am Eloisa Abbygale Lau, a 5th-year architecture student from the University of Santo Tomas College of Architecture. I am currently researching my undergraduate thesis of which I am proposing an Alternate Education Institution in the city.
School design has been based on a model of "cells-and-bells" since we can remember; where learners occupy cell-like classrooms with lengthy hallways and their movements dictated by the sound of school bells. The shift to the "data era" of today requires a much flexible learning space to allow a wider range of teaching approaches. Furthermore, the population growth in our city has troubled the educational infrastructure of our cities. Unprecedented population growth has outpaced the capacity of existing and influx of traffic has limited community spaces for children. The growing demand for an educational facility and safe community space calls for a new approach to the design of a school. This project will be able to implement adjustments in the education sector, both system, and school design. A facility that envisions to promote quality education, growth, and experience through various learning spaces is highly needed.
The intended output includes a thesis book, conceptual development, plans, elevations, sections, and perspectives of the proposed structure.
To make the project feasible and as close to reality as possible, it shall be designed in an existing site in an urbanized city. Therefore, I would be needing some data that would be relevant to my proposal. In your kind office, may I request for information on the top congested schools in metro manila; this is to identify a site that would be best suited for my proposal.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. For any queries, do not hesitate to contact me through my mobile number 0917 899 8470 or my email address at [email protected].
Hoping for your favorable response regarding this matter. Thank you and have a good day!
Respectfully,
Eloisa Abbygale O. Lau
