Unfortunately, your query in item number (2) and (3) is a bit vague. We would like to request that you specify your request further, on what specific subject the term “most affected’ are you referring.

Your request

You requested information on the following from the years 2019 and 2020: (1) The number of reported cases of children in conflict with the law in the Philippines; (2) Most affected city in NCR; and (3) Most affected city in the Philippines.

Response to your request

Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request.

It is the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) that may have the data that you require. Under Republic Act 10630 (the “Juvenile Justice Welfare Act”), the JJWC oversees the implementation of the law. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the JJWC by submitting a request to them via this portal. You may also contact them by telephone at 921-0565 or via email at [email protected].

Further, the data might be available at the Philippine National Police (PNP), specifically the Women Children Protection Center (WCPC), since people report crimes, even those committed by children including heinous crimes, to the PNP directly. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PNP by submitting a request to the PNP via this portal. You may contact them by telephone at 8723-0401.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary ROLANDO JOSELITO D. BAUTISTA at DSWD-Central Office, IBP Road Batasan Pambansa Complex, Constitution Hills, Quezon City.
