I am Jude Christopher S. Bayadog, a duly enrolled student of the University of Mindanao-Main, currently in my third year pursuing a bachelor's degree in secondary education majoring in science. I am writing to kindly request specific information that is crucial for my undergraduate thesis entitled "School Resource Availability and its Influence on Stem Course Preference: A Mediation Analysis of Learning Challenges."
My thesis aims to unravel the specific learning challenges stemming from resource constraints. These constraints not only hinder the delivery of quality education but also align with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) concerning inclusive and equitable education for all. By understanding these challenges, we seek to unearth the factors influencing junior high school students’ decisions to pursue or deter STEM careers. Ultimately, our research seeks to guide the education sector in fostering interest in STEM fields, particularly in regions like Davao, to bridge the existing disparities and empower future generations for success in vital STEM-related sectors.
One essential component required to support the foundational framework of my research is accurate data about the percentage/number of students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) from 2016-2023. Unfortunately, our current efforts to obtain legitimate information regarding these figures have proven to be challenging.
Hence, I respectfully seek your assistance in providing a soft/digital copy of the following data:
