Dear Neil Jayson Servallos,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated 26 September 2020 at 11:34 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You requested for data or information on government’s response against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC) specifically the number of reported cases, number of victimized children for the period 2010 to 2020, official estimates of unreported cases for the period 2010 to 2020, and documents on budget and spending of the Office of Cybercrime for OSAEC.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved. Enclosed is a copy of data on online sexual exploitation against children for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 (RA Number 9208, as amended by RA 10364) filed before the Prosecutor’s Offices and the Regional Trial Courts in the country; and the number of children victimized since the enactment of RA Number 9208 in 2003. Unfortunately, this Office does not have available data on the number of estimated unreported cases on online sexual exploitation cases of children, as well as specific budget allocation of the Office of Cybercrime for OSAEC.
Nothing herein shall be construed as an endorsement of the use, or purpose for use, of the foregoing document.
Your right to request a review.
If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Hon. Menardo I. Guevarra, Secretary, Department of Justice, Padre Faura Street, Ermita, Manila. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date when you have received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of receipt of your review request.
If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
