To Whom It May Concern:
Greetings! The Psychosocial Support and Children’s Rights Resource Center (PSTCRRC) is a registered non- government organization which engages in research, documentation, publication, capacity building and advocacy that cut across the areas of childhoods, children’s rights, and psychosocial support. EDUCO works with children and their communities to promote a just and equitable societies which guarantee their rights and well being. We both envision a world where all children fully enjoy their rights and lead a life of dignity.
Together with financial support from EDUCO, PSTCRRC is currently commissioned to conduct a study on Child Rights Situation Analysis (CRSA) for the province of Catanduanes and specifically for the municipalities of Caramoran, San Miguel and Virac. Fifteen barangays (five per municipality) are also participating in this study.
In general, this activity aims to establish the extent of children’s enjoyment of their rights, with an in-depth analysis of their education and child protection rights specially in a humanitarian context; and identify opportunities of, and constraints to, the realization of these rights. The study findings will inform EDUCO’s child-rights based programming in Catanduanes.
In order to achieve this objective, the study will obtain relevant information on child rights duty bearers or policy and program implementers, both government and non-government organizations and the private sector in Catanduanes and in the selected municipalities and barangays in the province.
The information gathered will address outcomes related to the identification of duty bearers’ existing programs of intervention that respond to the fulfillment of child rights as well as determine the impact of COVID 19 to the enjoyment of these rights in Catanduanes.
In this connection, we are requesting you to provide information on the number of reported cases of bullying and child abuse in schools in Catanduanes, Bicol.
As the DepEd is one of the key organizations which work to fulfill children’s rights, any information that the agency can provide would be very significant and can pave the way for improving the situation of children in Catanduanes. We trust that you share this goal and are willing to be contribute to this endeavor.
Truly yours,
Beatriz Torre
