12 July 2019 Dear Ms. Jayne Heder Canava Ayuyao: You requested for the following: “(1) The number of Orphans, Abandoned and Neglected children only in Pampanga, (2) Their Age Brackets and (3) Top reasons why they are abandoned or neglected.” Unfortunately, the DSWD only has information on orphans, abandoned and neglected children in Pampanga residing in its centers and institutions. Thus, we shall partially grant your request and we shall refer your request with respect to this matter to the proper DSWD office. Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the Philippine Statistics Authority is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy. The PSA may have the data you need regarding statistics on abandoned and neglected children. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA by submitting a request to the PSA via this portal.
