Greetings! I hope you are safe and well! (Redirected to this Department from The Commission on Higher Education) May I request information for the total number of cases on University Sexual Assault/Violation/Harassment? This includes the number of cases witnessed, cases officially reported, and cases that have gone through a full trial (as well as the final verdicts, and if possible, the length of each case process). Percentages of cases per Campus in Metro Manila would also be of great assistance for my thesis. Thank you very much for your time and patience!

23 November 2020 Dear Ms. Isabela Lucia Aguirre, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated 21 November 2020 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You requested information on the following for your undergraduate thesis: (1) The total number of cases on University Sexual Assault/Violation/Harassment including: (a) the number of cases witnessed, (b) cases officially reported, (c) cases that have gone through a full trial (as well as the final verdicts, and if possible, the length of each case process) and (d) Percentages of cases per Campus in Metro Manila. Response to your request Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. Each university/college has a designated Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) or its equivalent to investigate sexual assault/violation/harassment within the confines of the university/college as mandated by RA 7877, as amended. Thus, it might be best to contact the university/college CODI for data pertaining to the specific university/college. Since you are talking of cases, the data might be available at the Philippine National Police (PNP), specifically the Women Children Protection Center (WCPC), since people report crimes to the PNP directly. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PNP by submitting a request to the PNP via this portal. You may contact them by telephone at 8723-0401. For (c) cases that have gone through a full trial (as well as the final verdicts, and if possible, the length of each case process), it might be best to inquire at the Supreme Court – Office of the Court Administrator. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary ROLANDO JOSELITO D. BAUTISTA at DSWD-Central Office, IBP Road Batasan Pambansa Complex, Constitution Hills, Quezon City. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you. Respectfully, Atty.
