November 4, 2022 Dear PANGANIBAN,, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Nov 03, 2022 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for The number of coffee shops in Manila City, Caloocan City, Quezon City from the year 2017-2022. Response to your request Please be informed that only sole proprietorships are registered with DTI, hence not all operating businesses may have been registered with DTI. Also, kindly be advised that business name registration with the DTI is NOT a permit or a license to engage in any kind of business and that the adoption of the Philippine Standard Industrial Classification (PSIC) in business name registration is solely for the purpose of classifying the primary business activities (product/s handled or service/s rendered) of those business names registered with the DTI. It is not intended to limit the activities of a business. Any business, however, needs to be registered with the Local Government Unit - Business Permit and Licensing Office where the business is located (business address). In this context, we suggest that you contact the respective Local Government Unit - Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of Manila City, Caloocan City, Quezon City for proper assistance.
