Good evening, I, Rich James Castillo, a bona fide grade 11 student at the University of the Assumption UASHS in the STEM strand, would like to request some information for our group research in Res1 this second semester. This will be very helpful in justifying the study project because we are having a difficulty gathering certain crucial data.
I humbly request that if I may obtain a soft copy of data and information regarding: Data and Percentage of STEM students enrolled in Public Schools in the year 2021
Purpose of the study
Our research is to be conducted to determine the different effective strategies on how STEM students can improve their learning on specialized subjects during pandemic.
Abstract
Due to the threat brought by Covid-19, lots of actions should be taken to make everyone safe from any risk. Which includes the learning modalities proposed by DepEd to ensure that every learner can study amidst the pandemic. Furthermore, online distance learning set-up is one of the effective learning modality that has been used to ensure continuous learning of students, and avoid risking anyone's health during a pandemic. In addition, according to a 2021 Statista Research Department survey, 29 percent of Filipino respondents believe the existing remote learning approach is less than 20% successful. On the other hand, 71 percent of respondents claimed that such a learning model is more than 20% effective, which is divided into three categories: 30 percent for 20 to 50% effective, 28 percent for 50 to 80% effective, and 14 percent for 80 to 100% successful. Distance education had been used in the Philippines as a preventative measure against the spread of COVID-19 (Statista Research Department, Sep 2021). This survey concludes that not everyone gains enough learning on their courses/strands that will surely affect the future graduates, especially the students from STEM strands since this strand gains more enrollees compared to others. The STEM strand is intended to foster students' scientific, mathematical, logical, and analytical competencies which can be reflected in the specialized subjects that the university offers to the STEM strand (University of the Assumption, nd).
Your most favorable consideration of this matter is highly appreciated. Rest assured that any data and information obtained from your great office will be used solely for academic reasons and will be kept strictly secret. I eagerly await your positive response.
Thank you so much, and God bless you!
Sincerely yours,
Castillo, Rich James D.
