April 6, 2022 Dear Jewel Cabahug, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Apr 05, 2022 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for The city that has the most single parents in the Philippines.. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, we find your request to be incomplete. Thus, your FOI request did not meet the requisites of a valid FOI request. Section 9 of Executive Order No. 2 states that: SECTION 9. Procedure. The following procedure shall govern the filing and processing of requests for access to information: (a) Any person who requests access to information shall submit a written request to the government office concerned. The request shall state the name and contact information of the requesting party, provide valid proof of his identification or authorization, reasonably describe the information requested, and the reason for, or purpose of, the request for information: Provided, that no request shall be denied or refused acceptance unless the reason for the request is contrary to law, existing rules and regulations or it is one of the exceptions contained in the inventory or updated inventory of exception as hereinabove provided. X X X As emphasized, you only enumerated the requested information and purpose of the request, but, failed to state your contact information. Lastly, we noticed that you did not attach any valid proof of identification. Therefore, we constrain to deny your request. Furthermore, the DSWD does not have the information you request. It is the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that may have the data you require. Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the PSA is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA by submitting a request to the PSA via this portal. You may also contact the PSA by telephone at 462-6600 locals 839, 833, and 834 or via email at [email protected]. I hope this sufficiently addresses your concern.
