Greetings!
This refers to your inquiry dated 27 June 2023 via Electronic Freedom of Information (e-FOI) regarding the average energy consumption of Commercial Spaces in the Philippines.
Under the EEC Act, energy-intensive entities under the commercial, industrial and transport (CIT) sectors or Designated Establishments (DEs) are required to submit annual energy consumption and conservation reports to the DOE every 15th of April annually.
DEs are classified based on their annual energy consumption. The following are the classification of DEs:
DE Type Energy Consumption threshold (kWh):
Other Type Atleast 100,000 kWhe but less than 500,000 kWhe
Type 1 DE More than500,000 kWhe but less than 4,000,000 kWhe
Type 2 DE More than 4,000,000 kWh
Based on the 2022 report submission of DEs, the following are the consumption per business type of commercial establishments under the City of San Juan.
