Good day! I would like to request for the syllabus of the subject Language Education Research because I want to be clarified on the following: 1. Is it in lined with the syllabus that we have to conduct actual study and oral defense? 2. I am aware about the subject Thesis Writing with Oral Defense and it is being enrolled for 1 year or 2 semesters but in our case, we have to finish chapter 1 to 5 for just 1 sem. The time allotment is quite too short but compared to the latter, what we are doing is just all the same.

September 28, 2020 Dear Rondick Piodos, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Mar 16, 2020 08:27:56 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. You asked for Syllabus or Course Outline of the subject Language Education Research. Your FOI request is approved. Please be informed that the CHED does not provide syllabus for tertiary education courses in respect to the academic freedom of higher education institutions. However, a general description of the course can be found in Annex B of CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 75, series of 2017 entitled “Policies, Standards, and Guidelines for the Bachelor of Secondary Education Program,” for your reference. In addition, by the very nature of the course, students are expected to have research output either quantitatively or qualitatively. Expected outputs of the course could vary depending on the professor in consultation with students. Furthermore, there is academic freedom that the professor can anchor with to require such. Students and professors may negotiate with the Program Chair or the Dean to settle their concern and other similar issues which can be resolved at the university level.
