July 29, 2019 Dear Richmond Kerville Magallon, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jul 19, 2019 09:06:25 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. You asked for Status of the proposed Mindanao Railway System. Your FOI request is approved. The revised scope and cost of Mindanao Railway Project Phase 1 (Tagum-Davao-Digos) has just been approved by the NEDA Investment Coordination Committee - Cabinet Committee. It is currently undergoing right-of-way and site acquisition and appraisal surveys. Indicative timelines for a 2022 completion (subject to change) are as follows: November 2019 - Start of procurement (publication of bidding documents) 4Q 2019 - End of procurement (Awarding of Design-Build contract) 1Q 2020 - Start of Construction If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
