11 February 2019 Dear Ms. Nuevo: You requested for “Statistics of Street Children and Human Trafficking in the Philippines.” Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. For statistics on street children, you may wish to consider addressing your request to the local government units (LGUs), i.e., provinces, cities and municipalities. The Inter-Agency Council against Trafficking (IACAT) is the body mandated by law to coordinate and monitor implementation of Republic Act No. 9208 (the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003). Thus, the IACAT, an attached agency of the Department of Justice, may have the data you need. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the IACAT by submitting a request to the IACAT via this portal. You may also contact the IACAT by telephone at 525-2131 / 527-2363 or via email at [email protected]. Very truly yours, Carlo Florendo C. Castro FOI Decision Maker
