I am currently conducting my undergraduate architectural thesis study with the title “A Proposed Study on Learning Environment for Persons with Disabilities” with the aim to analyze, enhance and develop a structure that would be beneficial to their organization.
I'm currently in the process of formulating the background of the study and need more information in regards of the Special Education Institution and Program.
If permitted, I would like to request for the following:
1.) Demographics of SPED Students & Teachers
- Age Group, Grade level, and medical condition of SPED students
- Numbers per geographic location
2.) Types of Education needed
- Curriculum for SPED
3.) Number of SPED Centers & School based on Private and Public sector.

According to the PDP 2017, one of the factors for disparities among the regions are in the education sector, as for the S.Y. 2015-2016 enrolment data on Special Education (SpEd) presented that there are 37 pure SpEd centers and 278 regular school catering SpEd centers to about 150,000 students with special needs in public schools. (NEDA, 2017) Effect of the interaction between the students and the environment, while guided by teachers and socially to each other (student-to-student). A learning environment is factored by interrelated architectural and non-architectural aspects which builds up a school which are the facilities design, educational practice, school culture and student learning. (Gislason, 2010) The climate, space organization and facilities are antecedents that acts as stimuli that affect the student learning and the workflow of the educators and staff. How are the educational and non-educational spaces affect the children’s learning and social capabilities, until they complete the program and enter society.

The intended output is a SPED School that as an educational institution that will cater the students with adequate facilities, and be efficient and effective stimuli for the students' learning and socially engaged to their to each other, educators, family, and society.
