Madam:
I am Nathalie Joy P. Galia from Institute of Computer Application, Central Mindanao University. I am writing your good office about a research and development project that our department is currently working for Central Mindanao University Senior High School Students and DepEd – Division of Bukidnon.
This letter serves as the formal request letter for the data about SHS Central Mindanao University and DepEd Bukidnon National Achievement Test. The data is necessary in order to conduct our Research and Development project entitled “Leveraging Educational Data Mining Techniques for DepEd Bukidnon’s Strategic Interventions for Senior High School Students”. This title was already presented to DepEd Bukidnon and they agreed to support this project,we can give a copy of response letter of Dr. Limbaco, (the DepEd Bukidnon Superintendent) supporting this project.
The main objective of this study is to extract predictive features of students’ National Achievement Test performance. This could help educators design pedagogical intervention strategies to improve NAT performance of SHS students and could benefit the students prior to taking the test.
The study is expected to output the classification model of grade 12 students’ NAT performance, the predictive features of grade 12 students’ NAT performance and the intervention recommendation based on the predictive features. In connection we would like to ask the following datasets of SHS Central Mindanao University and SHS DepEd Bukidnon:
• National Achievement Test Results of Central Mindanao University Senior High School Students per Subject per Student. We understand the confidentiality of the student’s name and will only ask the test results.
• Periodic grades when they were in grade 11 (School year 2016-2017)
• Periodic grades in grade 12 prior to taking the NAT (School Year 2017-2018)
We are very much thankful for your cooperation on this matter.
Sincerely,
