Dear Jeff Ronald Tabuna,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Jul 31, 2022 04:24:45 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
This has reference to your request for an age waiver.
Please be informed that under Sections 30-32 of Republic Act No. 6975 as amended by Section 14 of Republic Act No. 8551 “No person shall be appointed as officer or member of the PNP unless he possesses the following minimum qualifications.”
xxx Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age.xxx
Further, pursuant to NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 2013-004 dated May 21, 2013, “The age requirement for initial appointment to the PNP may be waived only when the number of qualified applicants falls below the approved national/regional quota. Waiver of the age requirement may be granted provided that the applicant shall not be less than twenty (20) or not more than thirty-five (35) years of age.” The following factors are being considered for the grant of waiver to applicants:
-Possession of special skills in evidence gathering and safekeeping, cybercrime investigation, detection and prevention, crime scene investigation, martial arts, marksmanship and similar skills;
-Special talents in the field of sports, music or arts and culture;
-Extensive experience or training in forensic science and other legal, medical and technical services; and
-Outstanding academic records and extracurricular activities of applicants during his/her school days, good family background in law enforcement or socio-civic activities, recognized social standing in the community, awards and commendations received, which should indicate to the Commission En Banc that the applicant can become a good member of the Philippine National Police.
If you possessed at least one of the aforementioned factors and passed all the stages of recruitment for PNP Patrolman Recruitment Program such as Body Mass Index (BMI) Evaluation, Physical Agility Test (PAT), Psychological and Psychiatric Examination (PPE), Physical, Medical and Dental Examination (PMDE), Drug Test, and Complete Background Investigation, the PNP Units/Office where you were processed will deliberate your application and will endorse it to the NAPOLCOM.
