Hi! I am writing to request regarding 1.) Copy of my income tax return for the period from March 2014 to February 2017. I need this documentation to meet the visa application requirements for Australia. I understand that this may be an unusual request, considering the timeframe, but I have recently decided to apply for a visa to Australia and must comply with their financial history requirements. The visa application process necessitates providing evidence of my income and tax returns for the specified period. Thank you for your time and assistance.
August 4, 2023 Dear Ms. Martin: Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Aug 03, 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for Request for Income Tax Return (March 2014 - February 2017). Response to your request In reply, please be informed that your request for a copy/copies of your BIR Form No. 2316 for the Calendar Year 2014 to 2017 cannot be granted/provided by the Revenue District Office (RDO) because the records of the RDO on those periods are already unavailable since we follow strictly the four (4) year retention period based on existing revenue issuances of the BIR (Revenue Memorandum Circular 73-2008). Hence, you may ask your previous employer/s for the copy/copies of your BIR Form 2316 because all taxpayers are required to preserve their accounting records for the period of 10 years in accordance with the Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 29-2019.
