RE: Raw data of all past National Nutrition Surveys
Dear Ms. Gacias:
Greetings from the Food and Nutrition Institute!
Thank you for your interest in using the National Nutrition Survey (NNS) data to conduct your research. Indeed, the NNS data can contribute in estimating burden of disease per province to assist local governments in planning and prioritizing health initiatives.
As stated in our data access policy that can be accessed in our website, we are requiring data users to write a letter of request address to our director, Dr. Mario V. Capanzana together with the study protocol so that we can check in our database the availability of the variables or indicators that you will be needing in your study.
For further inquiries, you may contact Ms. Charmaine A. Duante, Supervising Science Research Specialist of the Nutrition Assessment and Monitoring Division, through her email address at [email protected] and/or Mr. Eldridge B. Ferrer, Science Research Specialist II, through his email address [email protected] or at telephone number (02) 839-1843.
Thank you and we are looking forward to hearing from you regarding this matter.
Very truly yours,
Teresa S. Mendoza

Dear Teresa,
Thank you for this. As of yet, we do not know the variables contained in the NNS, only that it would serve as our best way of approximating nutrition in the Philippines as it relates to population health. With this, may we ask for a codebook or a variable dictionary so that we may refine our request? You may send this to me through [email protected]. In the meantime, we'll send over the letter and the protocol.
Again, thank you, and all the best,
Celina
