October 24, 2023 Dear GERARDO ARABEJO, Thank you for your request dated Oct 24, 2023 11:19:05 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. You asked for the Process of Termination of Probationary Status. Probationary employees also have security of tenure. During and within the probationary period, they may only be dismissed for just causes or authorized causes and after observance of due process. However, they may be let go after the expiration of their employment v via advance notice prior to the last day, without the need for due process. Our responses were made based only on the facts that were presented. This opinion shall not be used in any administrative or court proceedings as this may change based on any undisclosed information vital to the issues presented.
