Your Request
You asked for PCSO Statistics, particularly on 1) the market size of Lotto buyers and 2) the average amount spent by Filipinos on Lotto.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved.
Per data provided by the Agency’s Gaming, Product Development and Marketing Sector, the market for PCSO products consist of those 18 years of age and above, or 61 Million of the Philippine population. However, around 10% of the population does not play due to strong religious beliefs.
Based on the 2016 Philippine Survey and Research Center (PSCRC) survey result, PCSO games have 98% awareness level, but trials of PCSO games resulted in only 56% patronage, with only 1 out of 4 Filipinos having played in the past month.
In addition, based on PCSO Lotto sales generated as of November 2020, currently around 25 Million of the adult Filipino population currently play the Lotto games.
Lastly, based on the 2016 PSRC survey result, on average the Lotto market spends around PhP 60.00 per betting occasion.
