In support for this program, the department aims to establish Solar-Powered Irrigation System which can irrigate thousands of hectares of farmland using solar power. It is also one of the program that the department see as a support for farmer during El Niño. One of the advancement that the department is looking for is the use of irrigation system such as SPIS in distributing fertilizer evenly. This process is called FERTIGATION. On regards with the P30-billion (B) project, Sec. Piñol said in one of his press briefing with the members of press that the Planters Product is still finalizing the partnership with the Russian firm. It will be thru a Private-to-Private engagement.
