Dear Mr. Sinag,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated May 13, 2023 10:27:09 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
Your Request
You asked for the Old and New Official Seal of the Municipality of Taguig, Rizal, and now the City of Taguig, Metro Manila.
Response to Request
As requested, kindly see the five (5) various seals of Taguig City recorded in our National Registry of Heraldic Items and Devices with the following years: 1990, 1993, 1996, and 2005 (2-variants). Attached herewith are the said seals and their respective ordinances, for your reference.
However, we also like to point out that, of all these variants, only the 1990 seal was approved by both the National Historical Institute (now the NHCP) and the Office of the President. Pursuant to Sections 44 and 45 of Republic Act No. 8491 or the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, seal designs must be approved first by the NHCP and the Office of the President or Congress for these to be used officially.
For further queries regarding this matter, please send an email to our Heraldry Section at
