Development through Experiential Design in Special Learning Facilities
Autism is a lifelong condition, and while there's no definitive cure, there exist a multitude of approaches to assist individuals with autism in leading fulfilling and healthy lives; some may attain self-sufficiency, while others might necessitate substantial, lifelong support (Hallmark Education, n.d). However, early intervention has been found to have significant long-term effects. Empirical evidence suggests that receiving early intervention for autism is associated with a greater probability of achieving favorable results in comparison to initiating assistance at later stages of childhood or adulthood. (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, 2021).
The proposed project, aims to establish a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the development of people within the Autism Spectrum Disorder in North Caloocan. Moreover, the project aims to provide programs and services encompassing essential elements such as diagnostic clinic, therapy center, and specialized school. With that, the project intends to provide people who have autism spectrum disorder with the tools and environment necessary to empower themselves and to assist their path towards greater independence, well-being, and participation within the community.
