Good Day!
I went to DepEd Complex, Pasig City last October 29, 2019. I have already sent my Request Letter together with the student ID with signature and I was required to send the abstract of my thesis.
ABSTRACT
The subject Architectural Design 9 focuses on the architectural thesis data gathering and research on a certain topic. A topic must be uniquely developed by the student and is an arising problem in the Philippines. After the initial study and research, the researcher decided to have a theoretical solution for the arising problem about the facilities of the children of autism as well as their family. Recent studies said that in 2008 it was recorded that 500,000 are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and as of the present there are estimated over a million diagnosed with ASD in the Philippines. However, there are limited number of healthcare that can suffice the needs of these children and their family, as well as there is a separation of institutions such as Special Education (SPED) schools, therapy centers and hospitals, to have a possible care for persons with autism.
The study will focus on the architectural aspect of a Community Center for Children with Autism that will nurture them as well as enhance, learn, and have the sense of belongingness in the community. This will not solely focus to the children with autism, it will also expand the knowledge and understanding of the family of the children with autism.
