Good day. I'm Al Francis Viana, a fourth year student in San Beda University under the Dept. of Political Science. I would like to request the following: 1. Numbers of cases of land contestation between IP's and Non-IP's that handled by PAO from November 1997 to November 2020(include cases relating to violence and injuries as much as it is rooted from land contestation like owning/grabbing) 2. Breakdowns of such cases to different provinces(general) and municipalities of Oriental Mindoro (particular) 3. Copies of claims and counter-claims filed at RTC Branch 43 and 3rd MCTC of Or. Mindoro

September 16, 2021 Dear Mr. Viana, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated September 7, 2021 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for the "Number of Cases of Land Contestation between IP's and Non-IP's". Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. At present, our office is only keeping track of of cases involving IPs in general, without sub-classification as to the nature of the case and the adverse party concerned. Moreover, you are asking for records of proceedings, which would divulge sensitive personal information of our clients, both of which are protected by the Data Privacy Act and the attorney-client privilege. As such, consent of our clients is necessary prior to their release. However, you may wish to contact the Court Management Office (CMO) of the Supreme court at +632 5236479, or resubmit your request addressed to the correct agency on the eFOI portal. The CMO may have the information you are looking for as they maintain data/statistics on court cases, among others.
