Dear DEPED,
Our study: Exploring the factors affecting female to enroll and not to enroll in Engineering and Technology discipline through visualization
In the Philippines, women outnumbered men in number of graduates in most of the disciplines but are still underrepresented in Engineering and Technology discipline. As seen in CHED infographics (https://ched.gov.ph/higher-education-sex-disaggregated-data/) there is a disparity in gender enrolled in Engineering and Technology discipline in which 70.7% of the students are male and only 29.3% female. In our study, we would like to explore the concern through a question: why so few women enroll in Engineering and Technology discipline?
This study will use a qualitative research methodology since it aims to explore why women opt to study in Engineering and Technology discipline and why some women enroll and persist in this discipline. The goal is to visualize the percentage of the contributing factors on the reason of the said disparity through information visualization technique.
In this regard, we would like to ask the number of enrollees and graduates per year according to gender in engineering and technology discipline group by in STEM according to region?
Best Regard,
January Febro
