Good day! I wish to get the concentration ratios of rice traders (e.g. millers, wholesalers, retailers, wholesale-retailers, warehouse providers, etc.) in the Philippines so I am requesting data on accredited grains business players by geolocation (e.g. regional, provincial, etc...). Kind regards, Flor Alvarez UP SE
June 5, 2020 Dear Flor Dianne, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jun 02, 2020 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for NFA data on accredited grains business players, by geolocation. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. Since Republic Act 11203 or the Rice Tariffication Law was passed into law last February 14, 2019, the NFA has ceased in licensing/registering businessmen engaged in the grains business (retailing, wholesaling, rice milling, etc). Thus, we have no available data on the above requested information. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to NFA Adm. Judy Carol Dansal. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you. Respectfully, NFA Receiving Officer Central Office FOI Officer
