Good Day,
I, Alfredo D. Paningbatan Jr, a MAEd (Mathematics) in UP Diliman, will be taking EDUC 300 or Master's thesis this 2nd Semester AY 2020-2021. During the 1st Semester of AY 2020-2021, we started accomplishing the outline for our thesis proposal which will be revised based on our professor's feedback and will also be defended this 2nd Semester AY 2020-2021.
My proposed title for my thesis is "Academic Coping Mechanisms of Secondary Students in Mathematics under Distance Learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic: A Phenomenological Study"
The objectives of this study are: (1) To know how learners perceive distance learning in Mathematics during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) To know the learning difficulties of the learners that they have been experiencing during the Covid-19 pandemic, (3) To identify the academic coping mechanisms that students use to deal with the learning difficulties experienced under distance learning, and (4) To identify if students with varying mathematical achievement differ in terms of their academic coping mechanisms.
As of now, I am in the process of revising the outline of my thesis proposal based on my professor's feedback. In relation to this, one of my professors' feedbacks is to discuss the NAT and PISA performance of secondary students particularly in Mathematics Subject. By discussing the NAT and PISA performance of Secondary Students in the Philippines, I will be able to shed light in understanding how the pandemic exacerbates the dismal NAT and PISA performance in Mathematics and prior academic coping mechanisms in Math that have been derailed by sudden transition into remote learning delivery.
PISA results are available online, however nationwide NAT Results are not available online. With this, I humbly request to have a copy of nationwide NAT results of Secondary Students in Mathematics from SY 2016-2019. I personally request to have the data from SY 2016-2019 to show and compare the trend of the secondary students' NAT performance in Mathematics.
Your kind consideration will be of big help to this study. Thank you.
