Hi! The Municipal Planning and Development Office is currently preparing the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the Municipality of Romblon. In line with this, we would like to seek your assistance in the completion of the following data which are necessary for the updating of the CLUP: - National Integrated Protected Areas Systems (NIPAS) - Locally Proclaimed Protected Areas - Municipal Water Boundaries - Coastal Boundaries - Coastal and Marine Assessments Thank you very much.

June 8, 2022 Dear Cathlyn Suizo, In response to your request though the FOI portal, please be informed of the following: 1) There is no protected areas under NIPAS covering the municipality of Romblon; 2) Locally-proclaimed protected areas are established thru local ordinances. So more than anyone else, it is the LGU Romblon itself who can provide the data; 3) Please coordinate with the Dept. of Agriculture on the municipal water boundary since the guidelines and the delineation of this was found to be within the mandate of the DA based on DOJ Opinion No. 100 (2002). You may also coordinate with NAMRIA in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City since NAMRIA did the initial delineation of municipal waters; 4) To our understanding, there is no official survey of coastal boundaries since this is unstable in nature; and 5) For the coastal and marine assessments, please coordinate with the relevant agencies such as CENRO or PENRO, or NAMRIA, for whatever data they may have.
