Lasco, am currently taking up Master of Science Teaching – Major in General Science at Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology. Presently, I am conducting a study as part of the academic requirements for the subject Thesis Writing I. With regards to this, I am currently gathering data for the study that I am working on regarding the National Achievement Test (NAT) results particularly in the Science learning area of the public secondary schools in the City Division of Mati. This study focuses on the factors that affect the academic performance, in terms of the NAT results, of the secondary school students in the Science learning area. In this connection, I would like to ask for your permission to gather data regarding the National Achievement Test (NAT) Results of the overall and the Science learning area of the following: 1. the National Level for the school year 2013 until 2018; 2. the Regional Level (particularly Region 11) for the school year 2013 until 2018; 3. the Division Level (Division of the City of Mati) for the school year 2013 until 2018; and 4. the schools belonging to the Division of the City of Mati for the school year 2013 until 2018. Specifically, the study aims to achieve the following objectives: a.) to find out if the selected school, students, and external attributes significantly influence the schools’ National Achievement Test (NAT) performance particularly in Science; b.) to determine the nature of correlation among the selected attributes in influencing the schools’ National Achievement Test (NAT) performance particularly in Science; and c.) to determine the degree of correlation among the selected attributes in influencing the schools’ National Achievement Test (NAT) performance particularly in Science.
