I am Mary Cris T. Mala-ya and I am currently writing my thesis entitled “Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Teaching Performance, and Student’s Performance of Mathematics Teachers’. The purpose of the study is to describe the pedagogical content knowledge, teaching performance, and students’ academic performance of teachers. In order to support the need to measure the knowledge of teachers and correlate it to their student’s performance, I needed information regarding the result of the NAT, particularly in the province of Negros Occidental, for the last three years.

I am Mary Cris T. Mala-ay, a Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics student at University of Negros Occidental Recoletos and a public school teacher at the Division of Sagay City. I am currently writing my thesis paper entitled “Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Teaching Performance, and Students’ Academic Performance of Mathematics Teachers”. This study aims to investigate the level of pedagogical content knowledge, teaching performance, and students’ academic performance of Grade 10 mathematics teachers in the central schools of the first and second districts of Negros Occidental. It specifically aims to find the relationship between pedagogical content knowledge, teaching performance, and students’ academic performance of mathematics teachers. It also seeks to find whether areas of PCK can predict teaching performance. In order to support the claim of the study that pedagogical content knowledge is related to teaching performance and students’ academic performance, it is necessary to know the current standing of student achievement in Mathematics in the Philippines as reflected in the last three years results of NAT, particularly in the schools division in the first and second districts of Negros Occidental. These schools division are Division of San Carlos City, Division of Negros Occidental, Division of Escalante City, Division of Sagay City, and Division of Cadiz City.
In this regard, I would like to ask your good office if you can provide me the NAT results of Grade 10 Mathematics for the last three years (2016-2019), particularly in the Division of San Carlos City, Division of Negros Occidental, Division of Escalante City, Division of Sagay City, and Division of Cadiz City.

Please be informed of the additional requirements you need to submit. To process your request, kindly submit the following documents to [email protected], stating your FOI request tracking code:
a. Letter specifying the purpose of the request and the data being requested (year administration, scope, variables);
a. School ID to show proof that you are enrolled in a higher education institution;
B. Copy of your approved thesis/dissertation proposal signed by your Adviser;
c. Endorsement letter signed by the school Dean.
Note that the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA) can only release 10% of the actual number of examinees per year. Individual test results with names shall not be released unless the “data subject agrees to the collection and processing of personal information about and/or relating to him/her” per Section 3 of Republic Act 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Additionally, a corresponding amount shall be charged by BEA for the processing of the data request.
