Dear cha castro,
Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Oct 03, 2019 02:39:37 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You asked for LOCAL PUBLIC TRANSPORT ROUTE PLAN for Marikina City.
Your FOI request is approved.
For the Route Rationalization under the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP), it is divided into two-- the Inter-Regional and Inter-Provincial Studies and the Metro Manila Urban Transportation Integration Study (MMUTIS) Update and Capacity Enhancement Project (MUCEP).
For the MUCEP, it consists of sixteen (16) Metro Manila cities (Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina,Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Pasig, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig, and Valenzuela); the municipality of Pateros; and the adjoining cities and municipalities of Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite.
The Route Rationalization Study for MUCEP area will be the basis of the LGUs within the said area. The results, which include suggestions for intra-zonal routes, will be the content of their Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). They shall adopt the rationalized routes, indicated in the results of the study, through a local ordinance.
The LGUs will be capacitated in route planning and be tasked to update their LPTRP (results of the Route Rationalization Study) every after three (3) to five (5) years.
Thank you.
Respectfully,
