Good day!
I am currently doing a research paper entitled "Demystifying Kabayan's Mystic Four Lakes: A Local History" for a History 298: Environmental History class under the MA Social and Development Studies program of the University of the Philippines Baguio.
To date, no narratives have been written on the history of Lakes Tabeyo, Bulalacao, Incolos, and Letep Ngepos. Such lakes comprise the dubbed four mystical lakes in Kabayan, Benguet, for their eerie beauties. Lake Tabeyo, having the closest proximity to the highway among the four bodies of water, serves as the designated camping ground for hikers who wish to climb Mount Tabayoc, the second-highest mountain in the Cordillera after Pulag. Through an initial conversation with the campsite owners, the researcher found that Tabeyo is an unintentional artificial lake. The grounds used to be the farming area of the couple, but the 2-hectare land was flooded, thus creating the basin. The paper will create a local history of Kabayan, Benguet, focusing on the environmental history of its four mystical lakes.
To ensure that my request is fully compliant with Section 13.5.d, I will send an email with my school ID or registration form attached, referencing the relevant ticket/request number.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Korinne
