Hi Archivist! Before 1862, Spaniards who live in the country were allowed to stay only in the capital city of Manila. But after a Royal Order issued on February 4, 1862, the policy of the then Governor General changed. Spaniards rushed to different provinces of the Philippine archipelago. Our ancestors in the Roxas side were one of those Spaniards and I want to make sure that they were really one of those who came to the town of Bocaue, Bulacan. I am writing a book about the Philippines and one of the sections I am writing is about land ownership by mestizos in the late 19th century onwards.
