The specific information that I will be needing for my thesis titled "A Proposed Film and Media Arts Academy" are:
1) The number of Senior High School Schools or Schools that offers "Arts and Design Track" Curriculum for Grade's 11-12. (I will be needing the numbers per Region, public/Private schools)
2) The number of Students that has enrolled on the "Arts and Design Track" Curriculum in the Philippines. (As much as possible the data should be separated individually by School from years 2013-present; Grades 11-12)
The reason why i needed this data is because i needed to know which region in the Philippines has the most number of students that has enrolled on the "Arts and Design Track Curriculum" on their Grade 11-12 Year.
I have noticed that not all Schools offers "Arts and Design Track" on their Senior High School thats why I needed specific information regarding this that will be used on my thesis study.

During the 1980s, the Philippines was ranked among the top ten film-producing countries in the world. But the nature instability of the country is reflected in its industry. (Tobias, 2008) A lot of coup attempts, civil fighting and unstable economy have kept down investment in movies; while production costs and taxes have shown a continuous dramatic increase. With this, equipment for film production was difficult to upgrade/update because of money shortage. (C. Masingan and L. Garcia, 2001)
The downfall of Philippine Cinema is drawn from Filipino’s exposure to foreign films rather than mainstream cinema. With this, the number of films produced over the years has decreased from 140 to 73 or fewer movies in the 2000s. The competition from foreign films with better editing techniques, cinematography, story concept and far bigger production made it difficult for Filipino Films to compete. (Valera, 2015)
According to Filmmaking.net, a database that has the list of film schools in the Philippines, there are only 12 schools that offers Film courses in the Philippines, 7 are standalone schools but only one of them have its own separated public rentable studio, the International Academy of Film and Television (IAFT) of the Bigfoot Studios located in Cebu. With this there are only few film schools that has their own motion picture studios. (See Table 1.1)
Disregarding the K-12 adjustment year on where there are no first-year enrollees (2016-2017) for the program, the table shows that there are still a lot of students that are enrolling on Film related courses. (Figure 1.1)
The concept of doing Film School with a built-in motion pictures studio is to accommodate the basic needs of Filipino film makers, enthusiasts and students. The facility will also be providing amenities and facilities not only for a Film School but also for Outdoor Studio and Sound Stages open for the public to rent and use.
