To Whom It May Concern;
Greetings of peace and solidarity!
The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is mandated as the primary policy, planning, coordinating, implementing, and administrative entity for the national ICT development agenda. As one of the lead agencies in the implementation of R.A. 11337 otherwise known as the Innovative Startup Act (ISA) which is mandated to provide benefits and programs to strengthen, promote, and develop the Philippine Startup Ecosystem. To fulfill its role, the DICT is implementing the Digital Startup Development and Acceleration Program (DSDAP) to establish a strong Philippine Startup Ecosystem to support and strengthen the competitive advantage of Filipino startups.
One of the initiatives under DSDAP is the Philippine Startup Challenge (PSC). PSC is a startup competition that aims to encourage and support Filipinos in creating innovative and relevant ICT products and services that may potentially develop into viable business ventures and solve social problems. This initiative is geared toward promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship in ICT among Filipinos and ensuring the continuous creation of investible ideas and startup founders that will expand the Philippine Startup ecosystem. The competition will be open for submission of entries that cover software or IoT (Internet of Things) enabled technologies.
In preparation for the startup event, the DICT Caraga Region thru the ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB) will be conducting several events that need to call the attention of every Senior High School student and faculty member who will act as team advisers/coaches to participate.
With this, we respectfully request from your office the provision of a list of public and private schools with location coordinates, ICT Coordinators, Institutional Head, and contact details and its tabular data with the latest actual count on enrollment and graduates within Caraga Region, that we can use as a reference for our data-driven decisions and policymaking needed in project monitoring and implementation on way forward.
Your support is crucial to the success of this undertaking towards a more ICT-Empowered Philippines.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
CHARMAINE MAY A. EJANDRA
