I would like to request a list of senior high schools (both public and private) in Los Banos, Laguna that offer Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand and, if possible, their corresponding contact information (email address or phone number). This is in line with my master's thesis which aims to analyze the performance of STEM students in solving contextualized optimization and related rates problems. The analysis will include assessments of the students’ performance when the type of content, context, and schools varies. The ability level of the students will be examined in relation to some predetermined indicators of problem-solving. Errors committed by the students will be analyzed as well. This study is crafted as an answer to DepeEd’s Sulong Edukalidad program that calls for collaboration and study to improve the quality of basic education in the Philippines. The requested list of schools will help me identify the possible participants for my study. Rest assured that participation in this study will be purely voluntary.
The final product of this study is a thesis manuscript with the possibility of paper publications and paper presentations to conferences.
