Good day.

I would like to inquire when will my grandmother, Amparo R. Martel who turned 100 years old last 2016 and has already received her Centenarian Gift of P 100,000.00, also get/receive her Letter of Felicitation from the President of the Philippines congratulating her longevity as stipulated in Section 2(a) of RA 10868.

More than the cash gift, our family thinks po that the Letter of Felicitation from the President is far more valuable and extraordinary. Such will give our family, and maybe all the other families of centenarians, something to cherish for generations.

Dear Mr. Martel:

You inquired about the status of the Letter of Felicitation signed by the President for your centenarian grandmother, Amparo R. Martel. The Letter of Felicitation is one of the incentives mandated under Republic Act No. 10868 [the CENTENARIANS ACT]. 

Unfortunately, your request is not an FOI request as per Executive Order 2, series of 2016. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request.

However, we shall forward your request to the DSWD Community Programs and Services Bureau, which handles matters relating to the implementation of RA 10868.
