Hi! I would like to request the following data: 1. List of last mile schools and their location, specifically those in luzon. 2. Demographics- number of student/teacher for each school. 3. In depth information about the last mile schools program.

Education in an outlying community has been hard to realize due its inaccessibility which results to nonstandard classrooms, lack of basic facilities etc. With the implementation of the Last Mile schools’ program, which aims to provide basic quality education in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA), the proponents came up with the study entitled, ESCUELA PERIFERICA: An Academic Institute for an Outlying Community through Modular Architecture The study seeks to help create a prototype design of an academic structure that conforms/responds to different situational needs, in terms of architectural and non-architectural aspects. A design applicable to, but not limited to, the last mile schools. Despite the disparity in locations the study aims to design an academic structure that can sit on mountains, flat lands or even on water. ESCUELA PERIFERICA means school situated on the edge or school that has been given less importance. ESCUELA – school PERIFERICA – peripheral Both are Spanish words A great day to you! We, the students of NATIONAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, group of Lester Jan C. Matalang and John Marie F. Peñalba, taking up BS in Architecture, are currently enrolled in ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN 9: Thesis Research Writing (ARCH 047). We are working on a thesis proposal entitled ESCUELA PERIFERICA: An Academic Institute for an Outlying Community through Modular Architecture. In line with this, we would like to seek for your help by allowing us to consult and gather the following data: • List of the last mile schools and their location (Preferably schools in Luzon that really needs attention) • Demographics; (population or the number of students and teachers in each considered last mile school) • And other data related to the “last mile” schools program This will help us in our research study regarding schools in an outlying community.
