You asked for information which will aid you in writing your paper in Diploma in Research and Development Management.
Response to Request
1. What type of organizational culture does the RDO implement?
PIDS as an RDO has a culture of quality and excellence. PIDS also has a collegial environment which promotes open communication and ease of coordination within the organization. PIDS employees work together collegially, to share a sense of responsibility, to achieve its strategic objectives and to recognize accomplishments of all the members of the organization. These results to greater commitment to their work, job satisfaction and success.
2. Does the RDO have culture trends? If so, can you describe these?
PIDS builds an efficient organizational culture. This is shown by the shared values and practices on how the organization works around. The following cultural trends have been established in PIDS:
a. Prioritizing Employee Welfare
There is a strong management support to employees’ welfare. This is being done through provision of continuous feedback through the semestral performance review, focusing on continuous learning and development programs, establishing rewards and recognition platforms, and implementing occupational and safety health programs.
b. Implementing Flexible Work Arrangements
PIDS is currently in the pilot stage of implementation of flexible work arrangement which is a combination of compressed work week, work from home, and flexitime. This allows flexibility in employee’s work schedule to be able to maintain their work-life balance.
c. Equality in the workplace
PIDS promotes understanding diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In fact, PIDS also adheres to the Equal Employment Opportunity Principle (EEOP) in the implementation of its Recruitment, Selection and Placement. In this regard, applications from all qualified individuals regardless of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disabilities, religion and/or indigenous group membership are accepted.
3. Do the departments have the same belief/culture? How does this affect the relationship between departments?
The same culture has been established in all departments/office in PIDS. All members of the organization have shared vision, mission, and quality policy, and in-depth understanding of each other’s roles. There is a strong and efficient collaboration among the departments to achieve common goals which results to outstanding outputs and effective client experience.
4. Is there a difference in the culture of the support system and researchers?
There is a shared culture within PIDS.
