Hello! I'm working as a virtual assistant and I was hired to be a middleman between a research company in the UK and a herbal company to supply them a herbal extract. As a middleman, I was asked to communicate with both companies and process the payment for both parties which will include sending me a huge amount of money to pay for the other party. I just wanted to know what documents I needed to submit just in case I will be moving with this project for my account not be compromised.

March 27, 2023 Dear Mr. Bermudez, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Mar 07, 2023 05:49:03 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Kindly coordinate or inquire with the bank where you maintain the account intended to be used for the fund transfer or transaction. Although the AMLC prescribed certain requirements to be implemented by covered persons, such as banks and financial institutions, relative to financial transactions, the actual implementation of these requirements may vary from one bank/financial institution to another. Further, please note that the AMLC does not issue certifications or clearances nor require the payment of fees or charges for fund transfers or release of funds. The AMLC, as the central anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) authority of the Philippines, primarily functions as a financial intelligence unit, money laundering/terrorism financing investigator and prosecutor, as well as an AML/CTF supervisor, in accordance with Republic Act No. 9160, otherwise known as the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001, as amended, and its 2018 Implementing Rules and Regulations. It has no mandate to act as a “clearing house” for any kind of financial transactions nor does it issue certifications and clearances for fund transfers and/or releases of goods and monies.
