Ms. Dy we checked our data base and your last payment of OWWA Contribution was in April 28, 2015. While you have been on vacation several times, you paid only your Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) as reflected in your files on March 07 2023 prior to your return to your employer as a nurse at the ROYAL COMMISSION MEDICAL CENTER, KSA, you did not renew your OWWA Contribution. For an appreciation of the benefits and services for OFWs who are members of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), kindly visit our website at owwa.gov.ph. Be correctly informed that government agencies, like the OWWA, have specific mandated functions. OWWA provides welfare assistance to all OFWs but only its member-OFWs are given financial benefits and qualified to avail of livelihood/educational programs. So, always be a responsible OFW and pay all mandatory fees (OWWA, PhilHealth, SSS) on top of your POEA -Processing Fee/OEC on time. In your case, we recommended that you seek the assistance of PhilHealth for your parent . But, you must be an active member of PhilHealth and that your parent is qualified to be your medical dependent to enjoy the hospitalization benefits. You may also, coordinate with the local government unit (LGU) of Cebu City to facilitate any medical support it can give your parent as its constituents.
